Athlete Career Program Options
The Adecco Athlete Career Program is fully flexible in relation to entry point and content and can be tailored specifically to meet the needs of different athletes with varied backgrounds and requirements. Athletes have the choice of utilising whatever components of the program that may be beneficial to their needs. The choices include:
1. Career Transition Workshops
Monthly Career Transition Workshops will assist athletes to find out
- What do I want to do?
- What do I need to do to get a job?
- Where do I start looking for employment?
The self paced workshop covers 10 Milestones that equips the athlete with the information, techniques and skills to make the career transition and manage a career outside of sport. The ‘10 milestones’ methodology provides information covering:
- Survey Your Professional Environment
- Determine Your Professional Objective
- Create Communications Strategy and Resume
- Define Your Target Market
- Gather Marketplace Information
- Get Your Message Out
- Talk with Hiring Managers
- Consider Other Methods of Search
- Interview, Cultivate Offers and Negotiate
- Transition into a New Position
The Career Transition Workshop also provides athletes with a comprehensive workbook covering each Milestone in detail and how to apply each Milestone to individual needs and form a career plan.
2. Work Ready Skills Training
To assist athletes in becoming work ready Adecco will ascertain current skills and competencies, preferred career options, work motivation and income requirement.
An Adecco Career Transition Co-ordinator will consult with each athlete to access relevant skills training (where eligible) or advise of training required and referrals to be made to relevant training institutions. The program also provides educational guidance and tertiary liaison with access to a variety of training options to ensure you are work ready.
3. Job Security
Finding suitable employment for the athlete is clearly the most important component of the Adecco Athlete Career Program. In addition to the Adecco Career Transition Co-ordinator, a specialist Adecco Recruitment Consultant will be individually assigned to assist with job placement. The Adecco Recruitment Consultant will help define a professional profile and will introduce you to Adecco clients for placement.
Job search and placement through the Athlete Career Program is available at all stages of the athletes sporting career, from entry level to retired and delisted players.
