What is the purpose of the Adecco Athlete Career Program?
The Adecco Athlete Career Program provides eligible athletes with job placement, career counselling and transitional support, access to skills training and educational guidance. The purpose of the program is to support the integration of athletes into the workplace both during and after their sporting career without compromising the athletes sporting objectives.
How much does the Adecco Athlete Career Program cost?
The Adecco Athlete Career Program is free of charge for elite athletes, sporting organisations and clubs as part of the Adecco Groups world wide Corporate Social Responsibility Program.
How do I know if I am eligible for the Adecco Athlete Career Program?
The Athlete Career Program is available to elite athletes across all sports where Adecco has an existing agreement with the relevant national sporting organisation or federation. To confirm your eligibility contact your national or state sporting organisation or register for the program with Adecco.
How do I register for the Adecco Athlete Career Program?
Complete the registration form under the Registration section of this website and click submit. Alternatively, ask your sporting organisation for a program information brochure and mail or fax the registration section back to Adecco.
What happens after I register?
Once your application has been received and processed, an Adecco Career Transition Co-ordinator will contact you to discuss your career requirements and entry level to the program. Appointments and venues for Career Transition Workshops along with consultation times with your Adecco Recruitment Consultant will be made at this time.
How do I apply for a job?
Your Adecco Recruitment Consultant will contact you to arrange a consultation to discuss suitable employment positions. After your consultation, your consultant will assist you with job applications, interviews and placement with our national clients.
Will there be jobs to suit my training schedule?
In most cases, yes. Adecco branches offer a range of temporary and part time placement services as well full time placement services that in most cases can fit in with an athletes training schedule.
After registering with Adecco, how long will it take before I actually get a job or an assignment?
The time it takes to get an assignment for employment depends on the types of roles you are seeking, your associated skill level for these roles, and your availability due to training commitments. It will also depend on the skills needed by our clients. Sometimes we can offer you an assignment immediately following your interview with your Adecco consultant.
Can Adecco guarantee me a job?
Every athlete should be aware that the Adecco Athlete Career Program is a program to assist in job search and while Adecco will use every resource available to find suitable employment, placement is not guaranteed.
What types of employment can Adecco offer to me?
Adecco has the broadest range of employment opportunities in the staffing industry. These include:
- Commercial staff including Office Management, Secretarial, Clerical, Word Processing, Data Entry, Administration, Accounting, Customer Service and Receptionists
- Industrial staff such as Production and Machine Operators, Stock Controllers, Warehouse, Assemblers, Pickers, Packers, Fork Lift Operators, Delivery Staff and Maintenance
- Call Centre staff including Inbound/Outbound Sales, Inbound/Outbound Customer Service, Team Managers and Call Centre Managers
- Heavy Industrial staff including Fitters and Turners, Machinists, Toolmakers, Boilermakers, Electricians, Riggers, Crane and Plant Operators and Welders
